39 days

A freshly fallen snow covered up my footsteps from yesterday, but they are still there. Today, my footsteps are on the inside instead of the outside. My toes feel frosty as I try to warm them in snug socks and wool-lined slippers.

This fresh, new blanket of snow makes indoor activities all the more attractive today. That's good for me because I was able to finish one page of a book I am writing and to keep up with this blog discipline. I took some time to rest and reflect with my daily devotions. Yesterday, I felt energized and renewed with my writing. I was amazed at the thoughts that flowed when I didn't worry about what I was going to say and second-guess my audience. Miracles happen when we commit our plans to God and ask Him to walk along on the journey with us.

And yes, I made it a second day without creamer in my coffee. I enjoyed the bitter reminder when I took that first sip of coffee this morning. I even skipped my afternoon coffee. I wish I could say I replaced it with water, but I did not give up hot chocolate.

Thank you, Jesus, for your gift of love to us.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 NIV

Until tomorrow,
Jerilyn
